SPORTS AND MORE CAMP


Sports, arts and crafts, games and many more healthy exercise options! Campers will swim daily, so don't forget your swimsuit, towel and sunscreen. KINDER CAMP


Come have a great time with us as we do age-appropriate activities in this HALF-day camp. We’ll play games, sing songs, take nature walks, talk about safety, make crafts, eat snacks and have a few other surprises. Get your kids prepared for Camp Webegee, and don’t miss out on this week of fun! All participants will receive a T-shirt.

SAFETY CAMP


Could your children be safer at home, school and play? This camp teaches young children how to be safer through songs, coloring books, movies and other activities. Topics include Summer, Pedestrian, Water and Fire Safety (including a trip to the WG firehouse); Safety on Wheels; Stranger Awareness; and what to do if he/she gets lost. Children should bring a sack lunch and drink. Junior counselors ages 12 and older are needed; apply at The Rec.)

MATHEMAGIC CAMP


Produce a million dollar bill! Cause an object to move in a spectator’s hand—even though you are 10 feet away! Learn what many magicians regard as the greatest card trick of all times! The tricks for this camp are math-based, so in addition to learning fun magic, you’ll hone your math skills as well! You’ll also enjoy out-of-the-box thinking math “betchas” you can pull on your friends, math games, and math comedy as well! Get your own magic box and new tricks to put in it daily to amaze family and friends! Camp culminates with campers performing a mathemagic show for their families the last day. BRITISH SOCCER CAMPS


Challenger Sports' British Soccer Camps are the most popular soccer camps in the country and based on one of the most innovative approaches to coaching youth soccer in the US and Canada. MINI SOCCER


Young players learn and practice the fundamental skills of the game through a series of fun soccer challenges, skill-building activities and small-sided games. Elements covered include passing the ball, dribbling and controlling the ball, turning with the ball, boundaries of the field, passing to teammates and scoring in the right goal! These key skills are developed through various themes and use of the imagination to create a high-energy and positive environment for each player! MAD INVENTORS


Creative contraption warning! This is a camp designed by you—the inventor! Each day you’ll be given a series of challenges that must be overcome using basic materials, simple machines, tips from world famous inventors and the most important thing of all: your mind. With a little bit of ingenuity you’ll construct catapults and forts and then lay siege, fabricate a winning egg drop design, construct a dancing robot and assemble a working light saber to take home. While Thomas Edison said invention is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration, this camp is 100% fun! All supplies will be provided.

OZZIE SMITH’S SPORTS ACADEMY CAMPS


Ozzie Smith Sports Academy camps, appropriate for girls and boys, are instructed by quality ex-professional and/or current ex-collegiate players. Instructor-to-participant ratio is kept at approximately 1:10. Communication skills and motivation of each athlete are stressed, with positive instruction at a low cost. Youth receive a T-shirt, certificate, written evaluation, tips from the pros flier and a $10 gift certificate for camps, lessons or parties at Ozzie Smith Sports Academy. Participants are divided by age and skill level. Youth should bring a lunch, water bottle, glove and bat for baseball/softball camp and soccer ball for soccer camp daily. * If you child is in Before and After Club, please drop your child off at the front desk of the Rec Center. If your child is not in Before or After Club, please drop your child off at the Memorial Park ball fields.

BASEBALL/SOFTBALL CAMP


This baseball/softball camp offers detailed instruction in hitting, pitching, infield, outfield and base running. There are drills in the morning, scrimmages and specialty drills in the afternoon. Boys and girls should bring a glove, nonperishable lunch and water bottle daily. Before and After Club is available; see Sports and More Plus for times and fees.

SOCCER GOALKEEPER TRAINING


Coach Jason Norsic trains the physical as well as the psychological aspects of goalkeeper techniques. Training is for beginners, intermediate and advanced athletes and is limited to 5 athletes per session! Through training sessions and goalkeeper games, coach Norsic will lead the athletes in fun and fulfilling training sessions that will help goalkeepers excel through enjoyable activities that they can take home to continue their training. The soccer goalkeeper is the quarterback of the team and needs special attention to meet all the demands placed on the position constantly. Each session lasts 3 weeks. OUTER LIMITS CAMP


Webster and several other municipalities are working together to bring you this outdoor adventure camp! Each day, campers will be transported from the Kirkwood Community Center to Camp Wyman in Eureka. Highlights of the week include the 40-foot-high challenge course, zip line, and tree climbing with a professional tree climber on a 100-foot oak tree. We will also spend some time fishing, canoeing, practicing our archery skills and so much more! Wyman provides highly skilled and trained facilitators to lead these activities on its 300-acre property. Campers will be returned to the Kirkwood Community Center at 4 p.m.

PERFORMING ARTS CAMP


Drama and art team up for this fun fine arts camp. Youth receive basic instruction in creative dramatics, scripting, beginning improvisation, set design and construction using various arts and crafts media. Camp is directed by Bill Sharpe, MA in theater from the University of Michigan and instructor/founder of the Webster Groves Youth Theatre and The Stage Company. All projects will come together in a play for participants' families on Friday evening (youth must have completed kindergarten).

KIDS COMEDY CAMP
